The National College of Management and Technical Science (NCMT), Kathmandu, organized an industrial visit to SecurityPal AI in Baluwatar, Kathmandu, on September 18, 2026. The visit provided an opportunity for NCMT students to see a professional technology workplace firsthand and to learn about the growing field of cybersecurity assurance.

The visit was from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM and had approximately 25 students in attendance. The program provided students with the working environment, industry professionals, and the link between their academic knowledge and technology practice.

Inside SecurityPal

Upon arrival, the SecurityPal team greeted the students, gave them visitor identification, and then split them into smaller groups to show them around the office.

A SecurityPal employee took each group to different parts of the workplace. The students had the opportunity to see the professional environment of SecurityPal and its facilities for employees during the tour. The office had open workspaces, meeting rooms, a library, a wellness room, and spaces designed for individual interactions.

Students also saw recreational areas, such as a pool table and a football table, and other workplace facilities, such as first-aid kits and water dispensers.

The office was a mixture of visuals and cultural elements in its different spaces. Among these was the company’s Yeti imagery, explained to students with themes such as strength and protection and its link with the Himalayan context.

The design of the workplace and the facilities gave the students a broader view of the way modern technology companies design their workspace to enable professional responsibilities and interaction among employees.

Understanding Workplace Culture

A key part of the visit was the chance for the students to see and discuss workplace culture.

Students got to know about SecurityPal’s approach to communication within the organization during the interaction. Instead of using “sir” or “ma’am” to address employees, students were encouraged to use names or informal forms of address such as "dai," "didi," "bhai," or "baini."

It gave students insight into the culture of a workplace where open communication and interaction between roles were encouraged.

Students also learned that the working environment is flexible and that employees can work from different spaces, not just one desk or location.

These observations gave students a chance to see aspects of professional life that classroom learning alone does not easily reveal.

Learning About Cybersecurity Assurance

The students then participated in a presentation and Q&A session with the SecurityPal team after the office tour.

SecurityPal describes itself as a “Cybersecurity Assurance Management Platform” combining AI-powered technology with certified human expertise. Its platform assists organizations with security questionnaires, vendor assessments, trust center management, audit readiness, GRC tasks, and larger-than- and other cybersecurity assurance activities.

The company also runs a Security Assurance Command Center in Kathmandu as part of its 24/7 global operations. SecurityPal said the center helps ensure cybersecurity with certified professionals and serves organizations across different regions.

Students saw from the presentation and interaction that the cybersecurity industry is larger than traditional technical security concepts. Modern organizations also need structured processes for security reviews, compliance, vendor risk assessment, and demonstrating trust to customers and partners.

This gave students a greater understanding of the types of professional roles and activities available in the cybersecurity and technology industry.

Industry Professional Interaction

The Q&A session provided students an opportunity to interact directly with members of the SecurityPal team and learn about professional working environments.

After the formal presentation, the program continued with tea and coffee, more interaction between students and employees, games, and small gifts.

Informal activities gave students the opportunity to interact with industry professionals in a more relaxed setting while gaining insights into workplace experiences that went beyond the formal presentation.

The students also got an idea of the different work shifts in the organization, which gave them further insight on how a company serving organizations beyond Nepal can structure its work.

Connecting Classroom Education with Industry

Industrial visits are an integral part of experiential learning, helping students to observe the professional environments and organizational practices firsthand.

The SecurityPal trip provided NCMT students with insight into various aspects of the tech industry, including cybersecurity assurance, AI-supported workflows, professional communication, workplace culture, and organizational operations.

These experiences can help students in management and technology-related education connect their theoretical knowledge with professional practice.

The visit also pointed out the value of skills beyond technical know-how. Professional development relates to communication, collaboration, adaptability, and understanding of workplace culture.

A Valuable Learning Opportunity for NCMT Students

The industrial visit to SecurityPal AI was an opportunity for NCMT students to move outside the classroom and interact firsthand with a technology organization operating in the cybersecurity assurance domain.

The office tour, presentation, Q&A session, and interaction with SecurityPal employees exposed students to the technical and organizational aspects of a modern technology workplace.

NCMT continues to advocate for the need to connect academic learning with industry exposure. Visits such as these allow students to see professional practices, interact with industry personnel, gain theoretical knowledge, and better understand the environments they may find themselves in after completing their studies.

The visit ended at around 12:30 PM, a valuable industry educational opportunity for the students involved and further building the bridge between classroom education and the professional technology sector.
